- Abstract
- In article the problems of self-identifi cation of the population of Siberia are analyzed in thehistorical and sociological plan as consequences of contradictions of Russian colonization of the region.Possible sources for development of the Siberian separatism, in particular the inconsistent relation ofSiberians to Russia and the European Russian are shown. Bases of regional self-identifi cation of thepopulation of Siberia, allowing it to dominate over national and local identifi cation, such as “theSiberian myth”, a geographical egocentrism, local values are analyzed.
