- Having investigated demographic and ethno-linguistic situation in Basque Provinces and Navarre,the author comes to a conclusion. Group identifi cation of population in that problem Spain region isfounded on not ethnic, but territorial criteria. This fact is a basis of regional social and political processincluding separatist pretensions.
