- Abstract
- The author studies the historical development of Antigua and Barbuda, political system and structures of power in this small Caribbean country. He also describes problems of cultural development, complicated ethnic-racial and confessional composition of the population. Special attention is dedicated to the political system, structure of chambers of Parliament and the way of their formation, as well as the powers of Prime Minister, Government and Governor-General. The current economic situation is also analyzed. As a result of general election during the last decade some important changes of political forces and their influence on the forming of the internal and external policy are taking place.
