Abstract
Ella Braginskaya, a well-known translator from Spanish and Catalan, died at the age of 84. She opened for Russia, in particular, the books of Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Julio Cortazar. Thanks to her work, Russian readers were also able to get acquainted with the works of Jorge Luis Borges, Gabriela Mistral, Pablo Neruda and Raphael Alberti. Ella Vladimirovna worked in the All-Union State Library of Foreign Literature. She began publishing in I960, was a member of the Union of Writers and the guild of "Masters of Literary Translation", was a loyal friend and favorite author of the magazine "Latin America".
