- Abstract
- Social liberalism is dominating now in the ideological and political space of stable democracies;libertarian and totalitarian/authoritarian collectivism is relegated to the ideological periphery. In Russiathe situation is different. Here, the main ideological actors are an authoritarian/statist ideology, widelysupported among the elite and society, and libertarianism, deprived of any serious popularity. Social liberalism, “sandwiched” between these warring parties, is still less popular among the elite than libertarianism. Prospects of its dissemination in Russia, at least in the short to medium term, are quite blurred.
