- Abstract
- In article peripetias of the relation to concepts “civilization”, “civility”, “culture” and “polite behavior” in Russian and especially in the Soviet literature are traced. The differences of Soviet treatments of their meanings from western ones are demonstrated, changes in experts of their use, muster with reconsideration of concept “civilization” in modern postcolonial and anti imperial discourses are analysed.
