Abstract

The Paris monthly Revue Encyclopedique (1819-1831) had set up a goal of eliminating the obstacles that disrupted the contacts between nations and impeded their mutual understanding. Russia enjoyed a systematic presence on its pages, primarily owing to its founding editor Marc-Antoine Jul-lien de Paris' efforts at recruiting the best informed Russian contributors. The letter from Jullien to N. I. Grech published herein reveals his intention to increase their numbers.
