Abstract
В середине 1920-х годов между США и Мексикой сложились напряженные отношения. Они были обусловлены конфискационной политикой мексиканского правительства в отношении иностранной собственности, истоки которой были заложены в тексте новой Конституции 1917 г. С принятием в конце 1925 г. закона о порядке осуществления ст. 27 Конституции Мексики в отношении нефтедобывающих компаний США столкнулись с необходимостью защиты прав собственности своих граждан. Отношения между странами балансировали на грани войны. Региональному конфликту был положен конец только после заключения соглашения Морроу—Кальеса в 1927 г.
